The Community Resources Program:
- Strengthens community engagement (including promoting a high quality of life for Sunnyvale youth and families) by:
- Develops relations with and conducts outreach to, Sunnyvale neighborhood/homeowners associations, communities, businesses, non-profits and faith-based organizations,
- Serves as a liaison for community members who are unable to resolve their concerns through regular City channels,
- Encourages community participation and leadership,
- Educates the community about issues and services related to youth and families and convening resources to address those issues, and
- Provides venues for community education and feedback on city issues.
The Goals of the Community Resources Program are to:
- Support residents and help neighborhood associations to identify and achieve their goals,
- Develop and facilitate relationships between and amongst all community members including community groups, ethnically diverse communities, businesses, nonprofits, and faith-based organizations,
- Encourage community participation and leadership,
- Provide venues for community feedback on City issues, and
- Help residents to address their concerns and to navigate the City’s structure.
